Oh!K and Astro Bring Sung Hoon to Malaysia this October!

In celebration of Oh!K’s 5th birthday, Oh!K and Astro have invited I Live Alone host, Sung Hoon to Malaysia on Saturday, 19 October, at 1 Utama Shopping Centre from 5pm onwards for a public fan meet-and-greet. The event will offer a string of K-experiences including group photos and hi-touch opportunities with the celebrity heartthrob.
Sung Hoon first captured the hearts of viewers with his debut role in romance drama New Tales of Gisaeng. His performance earned him a Best New Actor award in 2011, and since then he has won numerous accolades including Best Entertainer Award at the 2nd Asia Artist Awards, and the Korean Model Star award at the 13th Asia Model Awards. Currently Sung Hoon holds the lead role in Korea’s top-rated show, I Live Alone which airs on Oh!K (Astro Channel 394). 
Sung Hoon will also appear in a live Facebook session on the Oh!K Facebook page on the same day at approximately 1pm, where he will share about his experience in Malaysia as well as answer some of his fans’ top questions.

K-dance workshops and competitions
Also,  as part of the Oh!K 5th anniversary roadshow festivities, K-fans can look forward to high-energy K-dance performances and free workshops with KTNK Dance Academy at 1 Utama Shopping Centre from 17 to 20 October. During these K-dance workshops, fans can have a full dance-workout while learning some of K-pop’s most electrifying moves.
Dance crews who already have the moves down to a pat and are hoping to be Malaysia’s next K-Pop star can join K-Pop Dance Stars Competition – an epic dance competition hosted by KTNK Dance Academy, happening on 19 October from 11am-4pm. At the competition, all the best dancers in Malaysia will have their chance to shine and stand a chance to win a total of RM5,000 in cash prizes. 
Oh!K and Astro have also partnered to launch a ‘Pop & Watch’ branded block which will air some of the most popular shows from Oh!K’s programming slate. Seoul Tourism Organization (STO) is back again this September bringing the charming Seoul culture experience to Malaysia, in conjunction with the promotion of their 2019 campaign, Live Seoul like I do, Create & Share.  Building on the success of their previous campaign, the Create & Share campaign brings together a holistic experience for those who will be visiting Seoul both offline and online. The campaign encourages Seoul visitors to design not just their personalized trips and creating their very own experiences but to share those wonderful memories they made in Seoul as a Seoulite with the people they love online, while spreading the unique charm of Seoul to the world.

Oh!K Celebrates 5th Birthday with Pop & Watch!

Show Synopsis 
GOBLIN
Goblin is a fantasy story centred on a handsome 100-year-old modern-day goblin, Kim Shin (Gong Yoo), whose life becomes intertwined with a forgetful grim reaper (Lee Dong Wook). 

Seeking to end his cursed immortal life, the goblin sets out to search for a human bride. When he finally finds her, a girl named Ji Eun Tak (Kim Go Eun), he falls in love and wants to live and be with her. However, Eun Tak is on the reaper’s list. Will Kim Shin and Eun Tak’s love story be able to survive against all odds? 


MY SECRET, TERRIUS 
Go Ae Rin (Jung In Sun) starts looking for a job to make a living when her husband passes away suddenly. Unbeknownst to her, the mysterious man that lives next door, Kim Bon (So Ji Sub), is a legendary National Intelligence Service agent who has been lying low after a failed mission that resulted in him losing a loved one.

When the two cross paths, Ae Rin and Kim Bon join forces to uncover a big conspiracy, of which Ae Rin’s husband was a witness and that ultimately cost his life. 


I LIVE ALONE
A popular variety series that features realistic portrayals on the way single celebrities live, I Live Alone has gained a strong following since its inception in 2013. The relatability of the stars on the show has contributed to it being one of the top favourite variety programmes in Korea.

In addition to special guest appearances, the show also boasts a main cast called the Rainbow Club, consisting of the show’s hosts and other celebrity guests.


LOVE ME ACTUALLY
The Love Me Actually Club is a unique gathering of five charming, single men – the comic Heo Kyeong Hwan; the business-savvy entrepreneur Park Sung Kwang; the K-pop group INFINITE rapper Dong Woo; the smiley singer-comedian Yang Se Chan; and the youngest of them all, the up-and-coming actor Kim Min Kyu – still in their quest of finding love. 

The five men meet other single women who join the club to escape their dull and jaded lives. As the club takes them to different destinations all over the country, will sparks fly as they explore new places together? Join the romance hopefuls and the hosts in this exciting journey of love and experience the endless laughter and affection each one of them has to offer.


TIME
Born to a wealthy family, Cheon Soo Ho (Kim Jung Hyun) has been living his life aimlessly. One day, he learns that he has only 6 months left to live and gets involved in a murder. He gets himself out of the mess thanks to his father’s wealth, and is all set on enjoying nightlife and ending his life in pleasure. 

However, he wavers when he sees the victim’s sister, Seol Ji Hyun (Seo Hyun), who is in despair after losing her family member. Enshrouded in guilt, he resolves to help her with the remaining time he has left, but as he does so, his feelings for her grow.


I’M NOT A ROBOT
Kim Min Gyu (Yoo Seung Ho) is the largest shareholder of the biggest domestic financial firm, KM Financial. Despite his immense wealth, he lives in isolation and cannot date any girl because he is allergic to human contact. 

KM Financial creates a humanoid robot named Aji 3, resembling Min Gyu’s ex-girlfriend Jo Ji Ah (Chae Soo Bin). To prevent the robot from being misused by foreign investors, the robot is being sent to Min Gyu’s home for safekeeping. However, the robot’s body was accidentally damaged before it reaches him, and Ji Ah is asked to impersonate the robot whilst the latter is being repaired. 

Gradually, Min Gyu falls for Ji Ah, believing that she is Aji 3 – and things get complicated when the robot falls into the wrong hands.

Oh!K Programming Highlights - September 2019

This September, the channel with the ultimate Korean entertainment, Oh!K (Astro Ch 394), is bringing fans two new dramas;
My Healing Love which premieres on Monday, 2nd September and will air every Monday @ 7.50pm. The new drama follows the life of Im Chi Woo and Choi Jin Yoo as they pursue their own happiness. Im Chi Woo never wanted to become a good daughter, good daughter-in-law or a good wife, but she sacrifices herself to take care of her family. She works several part-time jobs to support her family and never fails to maintain her positive attitude. Choi Jin Yoo is a divorcee and has a daughter. He works hard and tries to live positively for his daughter.
 
Extra-Ordinary Haru premieres on Thursday, 26th September and will air every Thursdays and Fridays @ 7.50pm, within 24 hours of the new episodes being aired in Korea. The show is about Eun Danoh, a 17 year-old high-school student that suffers from a lifelong heart condition, who realizes that she is a character in a Korean webtoon. With her newfound understanding of the world she inhabits, she tries to change her own plot-line in a bid to find true love.

 
Aside from that, Oh!K will be airing the final episode of Welcome 2 Life on 25th September, Wednesday @ 7.50pm. K-drama fans looking for their daily K-fix also can continue to catch new episodes of Golden Garden on Sundays @ 7.20pm, Iron Daughters-In-Law on Tuesdays – Fridays @ 9.00pm, and 100 Year Legacy on Mondays – Fridays @ 11.00pm.

tvN’s Hotel Del Luna Tops Viewership Rating in Singapore and Malaysia

tvN’s latest talk-of-the-town drama Hotel Del Luna has dominated viewership rating charts in Singapore and Malaysia, garnering Top 3 positions for audience aged 4 or above since premiere, showing its appeal to audience in all age groups.

The latest episode (Episode 4) aired on 21 August in Singapore received a 0.997% of rating among target audience (A20-49) and 0.909% of rating among audience aged 4 or above, ranking No. 1 among all 120 StarHub and Singtel Pay TV channels; the rating among audience aged 4 or above also broke tvN Asia’s very own record in 2018 and 2019 (source: Gfk; Evogenius Reporting).

In Malaysia, the series is ranked No. 2 among all 142 Astro Pay TV channels for its episodes 2, 3 and 4 among audience aged 4 or above; the series’ highest rating moment took place in episode 2, with a rating of 2.014% according to Kantar Media. As the storyline intensifies, it is expected the rating of upcoming episodes will continue to spike.
Apart from its outstanding viewership performance, Hotel Del Luna starring singer IU and actor Yeo Jin-goo, also caught much attention and interest on the digital space, it has been crowned No 1. on the list of most buzzworthy dramas for the seventh consecutive week since its premiere. According to the ranking by Good Data Corporation (www.gooddata.co.kr) released on 27 August, Hotel Del Luna received a buzzworthy score of 33.87%, which is more than double of No. 2. Both IU and Yeo Jin-goo are also no stranger on the buzzworthy chart, they secured Top 3 positions since the hotel has begun its operation.
