TRAIN TO BUSAN is making its wave in Malaysia
and heading for its ride to success here. The zombie apocalypse blockbuster
which is released today in cinemas nationwide has already collected a whopping
RM4.8 million in box-office through its sneak shows, making it the all-time No.
1 Korean movie in Malaysia.
TRAIN TO BUSAN has received rave reviews
internationally upon its premiere at the 69th Cannes Film Festival,
which saw a 10 minutes standing ovation from the audiences. Movie industry
players had since showed great confidence in the movie, with its movie rights
being exploited in 156 countries worldwide.
Word-of-mouth of this zombie apocalypse
extravaganza spread since its release in South Korea in July this year, and had
obtained great results in other regions including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore,
Vietnam, Indonesia, breaking many box-office records alike.
Audiences here are also catching on to the
trend with many social media postings of the movie and the local LRT stations,
branding it “Train to Masjid Jamek”, “Train to Pudu” and more.
TRAIN TO BUSAN tells the story of a
zombie-virus outbreak in South Korea, where a group of passengers struggle to
survive on the train from Seoul to Busan.
