Oh!K Brings Viewers Love and Romance in Korea’s latest series, ‘Happy Once Again’ (21 January 2016)

Immerse yourself in whirlwind romances and love stories this January with the premiere of Korea’s latest series, ‘Happy Once Again’. The series, which airs tonight at 8.55pm, on Oh!K (Astro channel 394) will star popular celebrities in the likes of Jang Na-ra, Yoo Da In, Yoo In Na, Seo In Young, Jung Kyoung Ho and Kwon Yool. Fans can also look forward to a special guest appearance from popular girl group singer, Sandara Park (2NE1).

The series follows the lives of four singers from a disbanded girl group called ‘Angels’.  Delving deep into their personal lives, it features their journey through love and crushing heartbreak. Recently divorced, Han Mi Mo (Jang Na-ra) hopes to revive her broken notion of love by working at a marriage-consulting firm that helps couples find love once again. Also working at the consulting firm is Baek Da-jung (Yoo Da In), fellow band mate who on the surface lives a life of luxury. Remaining characters, Hong Ae-ran (Seo In Young) works in commerce while Go Dong-mi (Yoo In Na) is an elementary school teacher – currently single; she finds her life is plagued with loneliness.

While each girl has taken different paths in life, they still remain close friends, working together to get a second chance at happiness.

Oh!K Offers Malaysian Viewers Award Winning Programmes in 2016

Oh!K’s programme line up proves to be a winner once again at the recent 2015 MBC Entertainment and Drama Awards. The prestigious ceremony, which was held on 29 and 30 December in Seoul, Korea, celebrated the best of Korean entertainment and its A-list celebrities.

Infinite Challenge’, Korea’s longest standing variety show, took home four awards including ‘Top Variety Program’, ‘Top Excellence Award’, ‘Achievement Award’ and the ‘Writer Award, which was given to Lee Un Joo for his work on the series. After more than 400 episodes, stars Yoo Jae Suk, Park Myung Soo, HaHa, Jung Jun Ha and Kwang Hee (ZE:A) were commended for their ability to effortlessly deliver endless entertainment and laughter to viewers. ‘Infinite Challenge’ currently airs the same week as Korea every Saturday at 8.00pm on Oh!K.  



Another big winner at the awards ceremony was top reality show ‘Just Married’. The series, which features loveable celebrity couples in pretend marriages saw lead cast members Joy (Red Velvet) and Yook Sung Jae (BTOB) take home the ‘Best Couple Award’. Fans of the series can catch brand new episodes on Oh!K the same week as Korea, every Saturday at 12.50pm.




Perhaps the strongest contender of the night was highly acclaimed Korean series, ‘She Was Pretty’ which just premiered on Oh!K in January 2016. The cast members took home 11 awards for the show including Top 10 Stars Award, Actor of the Year, Excellence Award for ‘Best Actress in a Mini Series’, and Excellence Award for ‘Best Actor in a Mini Series’. ‘She Was Pretty’ which stars Park Seo-joon, Hwang Jung-eum, Super Junior’s Choi-Siwon and Ko Jun-Hee takes viewers on a journey of love and a twist of fate. Oh!K Increases Same Day Offering with Exclusive Premiere of ‘Sweet Mob Family’



Oh!K’s latest comedy gives viewers a sneak peek into the life of hard-nosed gangster Yoon Tae-soo (Jung Joon Ho) and his demanding family! Based on popular Korean film, ‘Marrying the Mafia’, ‘Sweet Mob Family’ shows how a man can live his life in two very different extremes.


Trying to find a balance between being a dependable family man at home and a well-respected gang leader in the work place, Tae-soo often finds himself in hilarious and unfortunate circumstances. JASON DERULO, CARLY RAE JEPSEN, APINK, SEKAI NO OWARI AND STACY TAKE OVER KUALA LUMPUR FOR "MTV WORLD STAGE MALAYSIA 2015"

KUALA LUMPUR/ SINGAPORE, 13 SEPTEMBER 2015 – MTV World Stage Malaysia 2015 , one of the biggest Southeast Asian music nights of the year, was punctuated with amazing MTV moments for fans. The stellar line-up of performersJason DeruloCarly Rae JepsenApinkSEKAI NO OWARIand Malaysia’s #MostWanted local act, Stacy, delivered explosive performances to a live audience of nearly 20,000 fans gathered at Surf Beach, Sunway Lagoon on Saturday night, 12 September 2015.
Recorded live for global telecast, the one-night only outdoor event, which is in its seventh year, brings multi-genre talents from around the world onto a single stage. The event hashtag #worldstagemy top trended in Malaysia and trended in Singapore, with an estimate of over 100 million social impressions within a day (Sysomos).

The night opened with the limelight on Malaysia as the nation’s #MostWanted local act and award-winning singerStacy gave her first-ever MTV World Stage performance. Stacy had the crowd dancing to an upbeat track, “Not For Sale” featuring Malaysian rapper Altimet.

Kicking off the performance with “ANTI-HERO,” SEKAI NO OWARI made their MTV World Stage debut to thousands of fans, excited to see them perform for the first time in Southeast Asia. The Japanese band’s third track, “Death Disco”, was both a musical and visual sensation for fans, with mesmerizing 3D laser orbs lighting the stage in tandem to the band’s unique musical expression. Last night, SEKAI NO OWARI transported fans to another world with an ethereal rendition of “SOS”. For “Dragon Night”, the last song of their five-track set, the band upped the ante with its pianist playing an accordion and adding a banjo to their unique instrumental mix.


K-pop sensation Apink made their MTV World Stage entrance in true superstar style as they were elevated onto the stage to perform their first of four tracks, “NoNoNo,” with confetti-filled balloons released onto the adoring crowd. Apink’s third track, “LUV”, was a treat for all in attendance as they moved closer, coming to the front of the stage. Throughout their set, the girls interacted with the audience, showing their sweet side and love for their fans. The Korean stars wrapped up their act with a rousing performance of “Remember” as an impressive display of confetti was released into the night sky.

Multi-platinum, Grammy®-nominated singer-songwriter,Carly Rae Jepsen made her Malaysian debut to a sea of cheering fans, performing “Run Away With Me,” the second and latest single from her highly anticipated new album,E·MO·TION. Jepsen stole fans’ hearts as she continued the set with a breathtaking rendition of “E·MO·TION,” the album’s title track. The Canadian pop sensation’s fun and bubbly side shone through her entire set with giant LED balloons bouncing among the crowd and bubbles being released into the mosh pit. Energy levels were through-the-roof with fans singing along to Jepsen’s chart-topping track, “Call Me Maybe”. Jepsen ended her nine-track set with a lively performance of yet another fan favourite, “I Really Like You”, leaving them really really really hungry for more.

Eagerly anticipating international superstar Jason Derulo’sperformance, the crowd roared as DJ Joe Murphy appeared on stage in a Harimau Malaya jersey. Derulo kicked off his MTV World Stage Malaysia performance with a bang, jumping up as he was elevated onto the stage. Derulo’s energetic performance comprising a 14-track medley had the crowd rocking to the beat of his music, starting with “In My Head”. A shower of glittering flames lit up the stage as Derulo continued his act with a series of impressive dance moves, bringing the crowd’s energy levels to its peak. Romantics in the crowd swooned as they were serenaded with popular track “Marry Me”. After a few more fast-paced tracks, Derulo took a break to have a heart-to-heart with his fans, inspiring them to dream big and revealing the meaning behind “Cheyenne”, his personal “stress-relief” song. Much to the delight of the audience, Derulo performed global favourite “Want To Want Me”. As the night came to a close, Derulo had some fun teaching the audience some of the moves to his song “Pull Up”. The set closed with a spectacular show of fireworks and a stunning display of lights, a fitting end to a sensational night.

Oh!K’s latest hit series, Everybody Say Kimchi to take viewers on a heart-rending journey

Everybody Say Kimchi premieres exclusively in Malaysia on 9 September (Tuesday), 7.45pm on Astro Channel 394

Oh!K (Astro Channel 394) is set to premiere Everybody Say Kimchi’ – a family, romantic drama that tells a story of a heartbroken housewife and her newly-established Kimchi business.


Yoo Ha-eun (Kim Ji-young) has always dreamed of becoming a lawyer wife married to Lim Dong-joon (Won Ki-joon). But her life starts to shatter when he abandons her for his client, Park Hyun-ji (Cha Hyun-jung), the heiress to the Taeyang Group. Despite the betrayal of her husband and the subsequent hardships she encounters as a divorcee, she starts a Kimchi business to start anew. With the help from Shin Tae-gyung (Kim Ho-jin), owner of an agriculture cooperative called Haneul Farm, she gets into a competition with Hyun-ji who also runs the Kimchi food subsidiary. Both of them soon discover a startling family secret, leaving them to question their foundation, marriage and the people around them.
