City, Country (July 9, 2013) – LINE, the world’s
leading mobile messaging platform with 180 million users, announced today the
release of its special Ramadhan sticker
set dedicated to the users in Malaysia. LINE users can download the limited
edition sticker set for free by adding the LINE Event Official Account to their
friend’s list starting today until September 9, 2013.[1]
The sticker set, which contains eight unique and expressive stickers,
features LINE’s favorite original characters, Cony, Brown and Sally. Each
sticker depicts these global iconic characters in a fun and animated way as
they perform a variety of traditional customs, including seeking forgiveness, salam with each other, serving ketupat and balik kampung.
With these stickers, users can spice up their chat and greetings on LINE
messaging application throughout the Ramadhan season and Hari Raya Aidilfitri
celebration. Dubbed as the new generation emoji, these stickers allow users to
express their emotions graphically using the vivid and engaging LINE cartoon
characters.
In addition to the stickers, LINE is also carrying out a series of local
activities to extend the Ramadhan celebrations across Malaysia.
One of the notable activities includes the LINE's Special Hari Raya Giveaway where LINE is giving away green
envelopes at various locations across Malaysia throughout the Ramadhan and Hari
Raya Aidilfitri season. These green ang pows are available for free at BHP
petrol stations, Chatime outlets, Chaswood chain of restaurants (TGIF,
Italiannies, Bulgogi Brothers, Chawan, Watami, Markethall and more), Nokia
outlets, as well as HotFM events.
These special offerings are part of LINE’s continuous effort to roll out
more localised and tailored features for Malaysian users. Recently, LINE has
released various customised services such as Official Account of local
celebrities and free Upin & Ipin sticker set exclusively for Malaysian
users.
