World Stage Live in Malaysia 2012 is set to make a big return to the Surf Beach @ Sunway Lagoon on 14 July with a spectacular line-up featuring global superstar Justin Bieber, multi-award winning Korean pop sensations Jay Park and Kara, and the nation’s very own singer-songwriter Mizz Nina.

MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2012, staged in front of a live audience of about 15,000 fans, is sponsored by Sunway Integrated Resort City, Lenovo, Xpax and Twisties, and supported by broadcast partner, Astro.

MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2012 will be produced into a 2-hour TV show premiering on MTV SEA channel on Saturday 28 July 2012, 12:30pm (WIB), 1:30pm (SG/HK/PHIL) and 2:30pm (MAL). An hour-long version will also be broadast later in the year via MTV’s global network of more than 60 channels in over 150 territories reaching over 600 million households

With worldwide album sales in excess of 15 million units, over 43 million Facebook followers and more than 22 million Twitter followers, Justin Bieber is a global phenomenon in today’s pop culture and the social media scene. The 18-year-old Canadian comes from humble beginnings by posting homemade videos online before being discovered by his manager Scooter Braun.

U.S. born and bred Korean-American singer song-writer, dancer and actor Park Jaebeom, otherwise better known as  Jay Par, was the charismatic leader of South Korean K-Pop boyband 2PM. With his boyish good looks, explosive dance moves and ability to both sing and rap, Jay Park has been highly touted as the next breakout star in the U.S. market.

 

Kara, which means “sweet melody” in Greek, is made up of female members Park Gyu Ri, Han Seung Yeon, Goo Ha Ra, Nicole Jung and Kang Ji Young. Combining Euro dance pop, electronic dance and alternative rock, Kara made their debut in March 2007 with the release of their first album The First Blooming.

Malaysia's very own Mizz Nina has taken on myriad personas in the span of her career. Her groove-hungry soul and love for infectious beats led her from First Born Troopz in 1997. But it was during her stint with the seminal Malaysia hip hop group, Teh Tarik Crew (TTC), that her musical career took off with two AIM nominations in 2002 for the group's full-length album How's The Level?

[NEWS] Block B 526 Showcase Meet The Fans

Korea boy group Block B, will meet their fans on 26th May 2012, at 3pm, in conjunction with the opening of Kenanga Wholesale City Mall (KWCM).

 

This is Block B debut in Malaysia as an opening guest artiste and meets the fans. Block B's fans, this is a golden opportunity to meet then and how can you missed out this important moment?

Block B (Hangul: 블락비) is a South Korean boy group created by Cho PD under his label Brand New Stardom. On April 15, 2011, they made their debut on KBS Music Bank with their first promotional single, "Freeze!" ("그대로 멈춰라!") which from first album ‘New Kids on the Block’. On 27^th January 2012, their second album titled 'Welcome to the Block' with new single “Nanrina"("난리나") released. The group consists of seven members: Zico (Woo Jiho), Lee Taeil, B-Bomb (Lee Minhyuk), Ahn Jaehyo, U-Kwon (Kim Yukwon), Park Kyung, and P.O (Pyo Jihoon). The members of Block B have dancing, rapping, composing, and singing experience. Their debut single, titled "Do You Wanna B?" consists of three tracks. Block B is short for the term Blockbuster, with the group having high hopes of making it big in the music industry. The group has its roots in hip hop, but has interest in branching out into different genres.

U-Kiss, Dal Shabet and Teen Top to Perform at the Millions of Youth Gathering on 25 & 26 May 2012 at Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur.

Millions of Youth Gathering is here again in Putrajaya. The 3 days event start from 23-27 May 2012. 

The celebration of National Youth Day is to honour the youth of the country as they have contributed greatly to the country and government. There will be 37 segments with a lot of activities throughout the 5 days event.

But of course, our main attractions would be the performance of K-Pop artist. To date, the artist that are confirmed to perform are U-Kiss, Dal Shabet and Teen Top. Here is the schedule for their performance.

[NEWS] ORIANTHI COMPLETES TWIN TOWERS @LIVE 2012 LINE-UP

Rock Guitarist Sensation to join DJ’s and personality hosts
 

Kuala Lumpur, 21 March 2012 – The forthcoming TWIN TOWERS @LIVE 2012 is proud to announce the addition of Greek Australian rock guitarist sensation Orianthi to the artiste line-up set to perform at the base of the PETRONAS Twin Towers.

The first of the two-day free-to-public concert will see American singer, songwriter and dancer Nicole Scherzinger joined by Korean pop girl-group Girls’ Generation, Malaysia’s top artistes James Baum, Reshmonu and DJ Nadine will take to the stage on Friday, 23 March 2012. Taking to the stage as the show’s host is model, actress and TV personality Jojo Struys.

Joining the show’s A-list cast of international artistes, Orianthi will take to the stage alongside American R&B/Dance star Kelis on the second of two shows on Saturday 24 March 2012. Also performing on that night are multi-award winning Malaysian star Faizal Tahir and DJ Nikki. The show will be hosted by Miss Universe Malaysia 2011, Deborah Henry.

Dubbed as one of the world’s best promising and talented female rock guitarist, Orianthi has received numerous accolades since being selected to be Michael Jackson’s lead guitarist for his ill-fated tour in 2009. Having performed with legendary artistes like Prince and Eric Clapton, she has even opened for Steve Vai. An accomplished performer, in 2011 Orianthi was announced as Alice Cooper’s new guitarist, becoming the first female member of the band. She comments, “I am excited about coming to perform in Malaysia at the TWIN TOWERS @LIVE 2012 for the very first time. To be able to come back and visit the country and to play right here in the heart of Kuala Lumpur at the base of one of the world’s most famous towers is definitely an experience I am looking forward too!”
 

Taking to the turntables at the TWIN TOWERS @LIVE 2012 are two of the country’s top and accomplished DJ’s. Sporting their own unique style of entertainment; established model and Miss Universe Malaysia 2010 DJ Nadine (Nadine Ann Thomas) is set to perform on Friday, while DJ Nikki will bring her versatile, fresh and exciting set to the stage on Saturday.

Set to be an unforgettable international show in the Kuala Lumpur City Centre, entrance to the TWIN TOWERS @LIVE 2012 concert venue is free to the public.

The concert is free to members of the public in the public access area. There are ticketed zones which can be obtained via several channels. 

Purchase RM150 worth of merchandise at the 2012 Formula 1™ PETRONAS Malaysia Grand Prix Showcase at the concourse level of Suria KLCC and be entitled to two (2) Fan Zone tickets. Spend RM300 worth of merchandise and be in the running for four (4) Fan Zones tickets. Tickets are available for both concert days. Subject to availability.

Partial Road Closure Announcement 

In preparation for the TWIN TOWERS @LIVE 2012, the concert management in collaboration with the police and Kuala Lumpur City Hall wish to inform of partial road closures along several roads within the immediate vicinity of the concert venue.

The scheduled partial closure will take place from 5.00p.m to 3.00a.m on 23rd and 24th March and will affect the following roads:
 

1. The intersection of Jalan Ampang and Persiaran KLCC, closest to Maxis Tower
2. Main intersection of Jalan Ampang, Jalan Yap Kwan Seng and Jalan P Ramlee
3. Jalan P Ramlee from the main intersection towards the intersection with Jalan Pinang
4. The intersection of Jalan Pinang and Persiaran KLCC
5. Persiaran KLCC infront of the two towers
 

Note: Members of the public will still be able to utilise alternative roads leading to Jalan Sultan Ismail. 

Please follow instructions by the traffic police.

[NEWS] Confirmed! Girls' Generation F1 Petronas Malaysian GP 2012 - Mar 23, Petronas Twin Towers in Malaysia

Forget Kylie Minogue. Or Orianthi. Girls' Generation and Nicole Scherzinger are set to pump up the kicks at the Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix 2012 this weekend.

The K-pop band of the moment and the top US pop star are set to take centrestage at Petronas Twin Towers on Friday, the same venue as the cancelled F1 Rocks entertainment extravaganza.

This will be Girls' Generation first ever concert in Malaysia after their successful promotional stint in the US last month.

As for Nicole, she has performed here twice with her former band, The Pussycat Dolls.

Australian pop diva Kylie is a no show following an alleged contractual dispute between Petronas, the chief organiser of the Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix, and Enterprise Entertainment Ltd, the London-based company who owns the F1 Rocks franchise.

Industry sources have told The Daily Chilli authoratively that Girls' Generation and Nicole have just inked the deal to enthrall an estimated 70,000 crowd at the Malaysian F1 concert.

American R&B star Kelis, who was originally scheduled to perform on Saturday, will join the girls on Friday. Talk about more girl power!

The F1 concert is now repackaged as Twin Towers @Live 2012.
